If you are low on paper towels and toilet paper, there's a great deal going on right now at Giant. If you still have your P&G coupons from the beginning of the month (they expire 2/29!), then you're going to love this! Right now, if you buy 3 participating P&G products, you save $5 instantly! Bounty and Charmin are part of that deal. So, use your $1 off 1 Bounty and your $1 off 2 Charmin (size restrictions do apply, but these sale items are the right size!) with this deal and score big! They're $5.99 each right now, so after discount and coupons, you'll get 8 rolls of Bounty paper towels and 24 double rolls of Charmin toilet paper for $10.97, or about $3.65 each! If you shop at the State College stores that will double these coupons, that drops your total to $8.97, or $2.99 a pack! This is such a great deal to stock up on! And it came at a perfect time. Anyone with a little one knows you burn through paper towels, and I was almost out!

Save a Life
As I mentioned in my other post, my family is looking into getting a dog in the very near future. I've spent probably close to 50 hours on PetFinder these past few weeks! While on what seemed like an endless search tonight, I stumbled upon Clinton County SPCA. This is a shelter located in Lock Haven, PA with a list of some exceptional sounding potential companions. I immediately fell in love with Apollo, a gorgeous red Pit Bull mix. We're actually planning on seeing him this week! I was reading then about the shelter in general, and they seem to be easier to adopt from than most. That excited me, but then I saw something horrifying: due to overcrowding, they are a kill shelter, meaning that animals who can't find families must be euthanized. I wanted to get the word out to any and everyone who might be searching for that new best friend: CLINTON COUNTY SPCA would be a great place to look for a perfect match for you and your family. Save a life and make your own more joyful by rescuing an animal desperately in need of a home!
Go here to see their available pets now!
And don't forget to cross your fingers that we can bring Apollo into our home!

young family, old house
My family consists of three people. Me, a 20 year-old craft-obsessed couponer, Bryan, my 22 year-old modern day Prince Charming, and Aubrey, our 9 month-old princess and the love of my life. (We're hoping to add a pitbull mix to the bunch soon!) We recently started a rent-to-own agreement (or lease with an option to buy) and acquired half of an old house in a neighborhood entirely different than what we're used to. Going from the country to a very large town is a big change for us. This thing also needs a lot of work, but that's something we're willing to do! When we first stepped in, the smell of dog and the hideous walls overtook us, but we're slowly making the mess our own little home. Starting with the most important room, the kitchen! It was a hideous blood red - and white - because clearly the previous owners had to have been insane. They half painted everything and didn't mind where they put their painters tape. It's a mess. So with a rather small budget (think $10,000 to fix up a 7 room house that needs A LOT of love and a yard that needs a fence, a garden of course, and parking spots added), we are setting out on the adventure together. I'm hoping you'll join us as this young family revamps our old house! Along the way, I promise to post great ideas that I have as well as our progress, and also any crafts that I whip up and couponing deals that I stumble upon. Keep in mind that I'm from central PA, so a lot of them might be particular to my region, but a lot hit on a broader scope. I'm here just to share great ideas and great buys that I come across and hopefully I'll inspire some of you with my home's transformation, and if not, at least I'll help you save a few bucks!!
